Foodie Friday: Cook Me Right!

Cook Me Right! was a 1983 NC Cooperative Extension pamphlet conveying the latest turkey-preparation information for that time.  It seems wrong, though, to depict the animal itself giving those instructions!

At least one thing has changed in the intervening years:  now professionals state you should not rinse or wash raw turkey (or any poultry for that matter).  Please follow the current tips given by NC State Extension.

Special Collections has an extensive collection of photographs and publications documenting 100 years of raising and preparing turkeys in North Carolina (one of the leading producers in the United States).  To see the original materials in person, please contact the Special Collections Research Center.
